This article frames the SCHEQ Foundation’s work as a strategic response to long-standing gaps in STEMM diversity and cancer care for underserved communities. It describes how the foundation creates infographics, webinars, and summits focused on lung cancer equity, and it features real feedback from summit attendees who were inspired to launch new awareness initiatives and found the programming uniquely comprehensive.
The piece also outlines the ongoing work of SCHEQ, including plans for the 3rd Annual Lung Cancer Health Equity Summit and the Lung Cancer Solutions webinar series, which highlight overlooked risk factors and provide practical information that often doesn’t make it into routine clinical conversations. It explicitly invites partners and funders to align their resources with efforts that increase survival and improve experiences for Black, Hispanic/Latine, and low-income patients.
For event planners, this article shows the scale and seriousness of my work, the kind of impact partners report, and how equity initiatives can align with broader strategy and community engagement goals.
