As an undergraduate student I became a student with Special Needs due to a massive, ruptured brain aneurysm. I went from a Dean's List student to a Special Needs college student; I prefer to use the term "different needs" I was crushed. I survived a ruptured brain aneurysm which surgeons have declared it to be a miraculous survival and repeated to me, and my mother after the surgery “we have no idea how this woman survived, her brain was full of blood”, Dr. Demetrius Lopez of Rush Medical Center stated “it was everywhere, all over it is a mystery how she survived”, but God had a plan for my life. My journey began with learning to walk, speak correctly, and the most challenging for me was learning how to use a computer. Everyone that knew me, knew me as the whiz kid of all things computerized. After my surgery I stared blank faced into the computer not knowing what to do with it. I went from typing 70 w.pm. to barely peaking at the keyboard. I refused to give up, not only did I push myself to relearn everything, I re-enrolled at Columbia College Chicago as an adult student. To say the least, I was forced to start my life all over again due to no fault of my own. In my quest to relearn and rebuild my life I became very passionate about other people's needs. I later became an online instructor teaching ESL to Chinese business owners who needed to learn English to better equip themselves in the boardroom. I also enjoyed being an ESL volunteer at the Howard Brown Medical Center in Chicago, IL.
In a quest to further aid students, I created the Crush Your Writer's Block workshops. The Crush Your Writer's Block workshop is to assist, aid, and give students the necessary tools to break through their writer's block challenges. Many students find it difficult to put the pen to paper when it comes to writing essays, I find they often say, "I don't know where to start, or what to say." The key tools students learn at the workshop is how to be their own self-starter.
I am also the creator of the leading-edge, Basic Business Communication course, produced by yours truly. My focus is to help you achieve a forcible business communication skill set that will ensure financial freedom. Distinguished communication skills are not only important to show customers that you understand their needs and pinpoints, but fostering a strong communication skill set also enables you to clearly promote your brand to future customers and develop a strong relationship with existing ones. Interpersonal communication is a two-way conversation, and it allows each participant to evaluate and respond in the most effective way. It is imperative that as a business owner, you understand the significance of listening as well as hold in high esteem the benefits of verbalizing responses in a conducive manner. The spontaneous exchange is all about sharing information; active and reflective listening coupled with a fitly response.
