What is the difference between Account Type, Membership Type and Subscription Type?

In our documentation "membership type" and "account type" terms are used interchangeably. You can set them using the "Account Name" hidden field on the profile application. Account Name is a related field to the Account Types table. So, basically if you would like to add a new membership/account type, you should add it to the Account Types table and then assign the users to that type. Here is a tutorial about how to use membership/account types in practice.

Subscription Types are used only on payments. If you add a subscription integration to your profile form, then the users will need to pay to get access to your site and depending on which subscription option they have chosen, they will have different subscription types. Here is a good tutorial about subscriptions.
