Exit Interview With Rosemarie Kingsbury
Event Organizer Shares Feedback On Receiving Speaker Proposals Through The SpeakerMatch Job Board
About This Interview Series
Many of the speakers in our community
have expressed interest in learning more about the speaker selection process. These
exit interviews will share feedback and insights from meeting planners
utilizing The SpeakerMatch Job Board. Enjoy!
Q1: Overall, how was your experience utilizing the SpeakerMatch Job Board to find a speaker?
A: It was easy to figure out the process and easy to find the type of speaker I was looking for.
Q2: How was the quality of the applicants who applied to your listing? Overall, did you feel the applicants met the criteria you outlined in your listing?
A: The quality of the speakers was excellent. I did feel that they met my expectations and, in some cases, we had a difficult time choosing which one we wanted. We chose one and kept 3 on the list just in case.
We've got jobs for speakers!
Since 2001, SpeakerMatch has been helping speakers get connected with meeting planners and others who hire speakers. Getting just one speaking engagement in a year can easily cover our low fee. For some speakers, even one engagement every few years covers the minimal investment. View more information about the SpeakerMatch profile and lead service and learn how you can start responding to meeting planners actively seeking speakers in just a few clicks!
Q3: Of the applications you received, what kinds of things in the teaser/headline of the application drove you to want to open the full letter of application? What kinds of things in the teaser/headline of the application made you skip over reading a full letter of application?
A: I opened all applications and did not rely on the headline. Not everyone is good at writing a teaser – we did not want to judge a speaker by their headline.
Q4: Of the applications you received, what kinds of things in the letter of application stood out in a positive way? In a negative way?
A: N/A
Q5: Would you use SpeakerMatch again to help you find a speaker?
A: Yes
