Planner Exit Interview
Exit Interview With Eric Haug
Event Organizer Shares Feedback On Receiving Speaker Proposals Through The SpeakerMatch Job Board
About This Interview Series
Many of the speakers in our community
have expressed interest in learning more about the speaker selection process. These
exit interviews will share feedback and insights from meeting planners
utilizing The SpeakerMatch Job Board. Enjoy!
Q1: Overall, how was your experience utilizing the SpeakerMatch Job Board to find a speaker?
A: Using SpeakerMatch worked out very well for us. This is the first time we have used it, and will definitely use it again in the future. It was very easy to use, and the user interface is very well done. I admit I felt a bit impersonal simply hitting the decline button on the people that I didn’t feel were right for our event, but I did make sure to send a thank you note to all that I had shortlisted that were not accepted after final review.
Q2: How was the quality of the applicants who applied to your listing? Overall, did you feel the applicants met the criteria you outlined in your listing?
A: I was very impressed with the quality and the quantity of responses to our posting.

A: Actually, I reviewed every applicants complete profile regardless of the headline.
Q4: Of the applications you received, what kinds of things in the letter of application stood out in a positive way? In a negative way?
A: Just like any introduction, some people had exhibited stronger, more outgoing information, some less so.

A: Absolutely, I would use the service again. I have already publicly recommended SpeakerMatch to people that I associate with.
