Standing on the Shoulders of Hidden Heroes

No One Gets Here Alone

Keynote
Program
We love the story of the self-made person. One determined individual fights through every obstacle, overcomes the odds, and reaches the top through sheer willpower. It is inspiring. It is also mostly crap. No one gets here alone. Behind every accomplishment is a collection of people whose names may never appear in the story. Teachers who saw something before we did. Friends who stayed. Coworkers who quietly made us look good. Mentors who challenged us. Strangers who said exactly the right thing at exactly the right moment. Sometimes our hidden heroes did not even realize they were helping. Standing on the Shoulders of Hidden Heroes is a heartfelt, humorous, story-driven keynote about the people who help us become who we are and the responsibility we have to do the same for someone else. Through honest personal stories, unexpected laughter, and moments of reflection, Ed challenges the myth that asking for help is weakness and reminds audiences that interdependence is not failure. It is how human beings survive, grow, lead, and accomplish anything worth doing. Audience members will be invited to: • Recognize the people whose quiet contributions changed their lives • Understand why accepting help does not diminish their accomplishments • See how small actions can create an impact they may never witness • Become more intentional about expressing gratitude • Consider whose shoulders they are standing on and who may be standing on theirs This is not a guilt-soaked lecture about writing thank-you notes. It is a main-stage keynote filled with humor, humanity, and the kind of stories that make people laugh one minute and feel a lump in their throat the next. Attendees leave feeling seen, connected, grateful, and more aware of the difference they can make in someone else’s life. Because no one gets here alone. Standing on the Shoulders of Hidden Heroes is designed as a 45- to 60-minute keynote for corporate, association, nonprofit, faith-based, appreciation, and community audiences.

Helping Leaders Navigate the Messy Human Side of Leadership

Leadership is easy...until people get involved! People make things “interesting.” We bring emotions, miscommunications, conflicting priorities, different perspectives, and a whole lot of other messy stuff. So how do we get things done when policies and technology collide with the realities of actual human beings? That’s where I come in. Through high-energy keynotes and interactive experiences, I help leaders understand people, communicate clearly, and navigate the messy human realities no manual prepared them for. Using humor, real stories, and practical tools, we turn the absurdities of this mess we call life into insights that change how people lead, communicate, and connect.
