Diversity without inclusion is harmful.
Do you wonder why over 70% of all diversity initiatives fail? They are lacking two necessary things. ONE, there is no focus on inclusion - the things you do, say, think and feel that ensure each person can be a fully contributing member of the group. TWO, there is an assumption that if one wants to do better they will do better. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Have you ever had a goal that you really wanted to reach, yet as each day passes, you don't take action to achieve that goal? The reason you haven't taken action isn't because you don't want it bad enough or care about it enough; it's because life gets in the way and we haven't set up our surroundings to support our success.
Diversity is only successful if the organizational culture is inclusive. The work starts from the outside-in.
Dr. Natalie has been training, coaching, and consulting with organizations that are focused on creating cultures where everyone is welcome and uniquely positioned to bring their best to work each day.
Behaving Inclusively means that everything a leader does, says, thinks, and feels is focused on ensuring all employees have equitable access to necessary resources and receive the training, feedback, and reinforcement to show up and do their best.
